So, this is the first picture I ever inked before scanning. Normally I just scan pencil stuff and clean it forever. I was hoping that inking it would make the lines THINNER, because my lines are always much thicker than other ppl's lines, and it looks awkward. And so it was much easier to clean and color, but still the lines were really thick, and it made me sad. Also, my hand is not steady when I ink stuff. I warmed up for a while and thought I was doing okay but then as soon as I started on the actual thing, I got nervous about messing up and it was all wobbly. So my lines are still wobbly and not the straight, pretty lines that I see in other art.

I got the lines thinner by messing with the brightness and contrast. But now it looks kinda awkward. I had a better plan for the "background" but messed up, so you just get this, because I was too lazy to fix it.

I wish I knew how to get very straight, elegant lines... and also ones that are not too thick. I also don't really know how to ink so I was just kinda writing over the already drawn lines. I have read inking guides and stuff but I didn't have access to any materials and just had to basically trace my pencil drawing. If anyone has some tips for inking I'd be glad to hear them. Well I am glad to hear any tips or help on ANYTHING.

I realize my anatomy is all messed up. And her boobs look like shoeboxes stuffed in her shirt. Well, I can't draw. But I am trying! I promise I'll do better next time XD But yeah, help me out if you can XD;

P.S.: If anyone would like to color this, I can give you the original lineart thing. I know it's kinda crap, but the reason is I'd like to see how other people do it. EDIT: I finally just decided to upload it instead: [link]

Well when I do lineart it's always in the PC (Photoshop) since I draw with a lot of dirt. Cleaning does take a while but it's 'safer' for me. Thickness can be achieved by erasing or widening the brush size. But if you're able to do clean lineart in the paper, you can use this guide, [link]

Hmmm, I could color it though, don't really know of the time^^; .

If you change the levels you can then paint white over the lines you don't like to make it more even. I never ink on paper for the reasons you said...except I have this twitch where I'm concentrating...concentrating...concentrating...then suddenly my arm just flips out and moves and I get a scrawl of about 1-3 cm across the thing ¬¬ So I ink in PS XD

IF I do it on paper (and it is super super SUPER rare), I have to really relax and not try to ink loads at a time. Don't press too hard (VERY difficult for a clunk like me XD) and use small, light strokes instead of really big long ones -I can't control those.

Otherwise I have no advice. But I'll colour it if you like XD

I like her pose. Man, you're way better at poses than I am.

Thanks ^^ I only recently started trying to draw people in various poses, and at first it was very hard, but now it's only... very hard but not as much? But I had to plan it out for a while. I drew a 'trial' version of the pose the night before, then the day I drew it, I drew a couple thumbnails of the pose on the page, then I drew a big frame for the pose and finally started detailing it to make the final one. So a lot of work goes into it because it's really hard for me XD

I have to use a mouse and can't draw a straight line with it to save my life, and I also fail at using the path tool. So that's pretty much a useless effort for me XD

If you do decide you'd want to color it some day I put the lines in scraps. But you don't have to if you don't want to XD

Well, I would have to sit and paint over every last line XD; I do paint over lines I don't want at all and stuff like that, though. When I would use pencil drawins to color I would have to go through and basically clean every line by painting over it, and it would take me hours and hours and still look messy.

And the advice was actually helpful. I should do it at a more relaxing time and not do so much at once XD And I probably pressed too hard half the time because I was concentrating so much on not messing up.

So tahnks ^^ And if you wanna color it, I added it to scraps and put a link on the original too :)

Normally, I can offer very good constructive criticism, but honestly, I don't really know what to say in terms of helping you with inking. ^^;

I suppose the most important thing would be for you to relax more while inking to help relieve stress and the potential of creating mistakes or wobbly lines.

Anyway, I personally really like this picture. :3 Her expression is really sweet, and I enjoy the shading/coloring style you used on this. Also, the backgrounds you make tend to give the picture a soft touch, which I find quite nice.

I believe in Jesus Christ my Savior. If you do too and are not afraid to admit it, then paste this into your signature.

Thanks so much! I usually just mess around with various color and blur options hoping it makes something cute, and I do this until I like it :) Of course I put thought into it, but it's never really planned.

I'm going to try my best to draw relaxedly next time!!
